Early Knit Workwear....
Design - This is a great piece of early workwear. A simple, wide V neck knitted sweatshirt or pullover. I hesitate to say sweater because it is a knitted cotton and is very sturdy but not as thick as sweater would be. The knit cotton is two tone in a peppered pattern in beige and creme. It is ribbed at the neck, waist and cuffs with extended shoulder seams that were common during the era. It is made to be to the waist and would look great with vintage denim and a great belt. While this is a simple piece is is not often we see cotton knit pullovers like this these days.
Material - two tone knitted cotton.
Maker - There is no makers mark
Measurements
*Please double all measurements
*For reference the model is 6' and a true slim medium build
Unstretched
Arm pit to arm pit - 24" (Keep in mind that the shoulder seam is extended well past the actual shoulders so the chest measurement also extends out, the true chest measurement is closer to a 40""
Shoulder- does not apply on this piece
Length - 20"
Sleeve- 18" (Again keep in mind that the sleeve measurement is from the shoulder seam and not the actual shoulder. Look at where the sleeve lands on the model in the photos)
Condition - This pullover is in great condition with no holes, but it does have some light rust discoloration on the back waist band in the middle. Please refer to photos to see how it looks when worn. It comes to you in clean, ready-to-wear vintage condition.
A a scare piece of early woven textile art to add to your vintage wardrobe!
