Design - This sheer net 1930s gown was clearly an elegant leap from the designers imagination. It comes in an absolutely sheer black netting with polka dot patterning throughout. The polka dots are made up of smaller velvety dots and are thus somewhat sheer themselves. The way the gown fastens and becomes fitted to the wearer is an inspiration of it's very own, with the fasteners making a staircase type shape with the neckline coming to a very low V in the front and then fastening with snaps and then a hook at the waist where snaps run along the left half of the waist to meet the side where it then hooks and then fastens with snaps down the side. The sleeves have a slight puff at the top and the become very fitted at the wrist, fastening with tiny black silk covered buttons. The skirt begins to flare out at the waist and is rich in material leaving an absolutely elegant slight train behind it.

The most exquisite design feature of the gown is the black silk attached collar and scarf or ties. Untied it reveals two very large and wide collars with two long scarfs that are ruched in the middles for an added design detail. The ways in which to wear this collar/scarf/ties are many, some of which we've included in the photos.

This beautiful and imaginative gown can be worn with a slip or body suit.

Material - black patterned netting, black silk velvet.

Maker - There is no makers mark but this dress was exceptionally well designed and created as are all of the gowns in this collection. We are calling the dresses from this collection the "San Francisco Collection" because they belonged to a San Francisco socialite with ties to America's First Super Model Audrey Munson. The provenance is a bit murky and because we were unable to be 100% clear it is not included with the dresses or in the price of the garments.

Condition - This dress was sent to Margaret's cleaners. Margaret's is the oldest couture cleaners in the country. The specialize in vintage couture cleaning and restoration. This gown is in excellent condition with holes, damage or discoloration. It comes to you in clean ready-to-wear condition.
