A Graceful Brim Sweep...

Design - This is a seriously stylish "brim Sweep" hat from the 1930s and it comes to you in a rich merlot "fine fur felt". This style emerged for Dobbs who say in their 1939 ad for this hat that they are "a man's hatter" which is true, Dobbs started off making fine millinery for men but started the "Dobbs Five Hundred" label in the early 1930s and were able to come up with some truly bold hats that were strongly influenced by their male counterparts.

This hat called "The Shady Brim" by Dobbs, features a "brim sweep" or "upswept brim" and a point crown with 3-D rings intricately stitched all the way to the p9oint. The brim stops at the back of the head with each side transforming into half a bow to create a full bow. Such a beauty!
