Early Champion Sweatshirt...
Design - This is an absolutely fantastic Champion sweatshirt from the years-1945-1946. Original owner returned from WWII to finish college at the University of Colorado in Boulder during this time period. He was also at the college prior to enlisting in the Air Corp up to 1942 but the tag dates it to mid-forties which works perfectly with his time line.
The sweatshirt features the 1940s tag stating to wash it in salt water, ribbed cuffs, waist and collar, double V's, and that loveable and sturdy reverse weave. The print is in yellow and features the University of Colorado name on it wit their football teams long standing mascot, the buffalo and the number 113. An exceptional piece.
Material - heavy weight grey cotton.
Maker Champion - Knitwear Company Inc - Rochester, NY - size 40 - Set colors in salt water wash separately and carefully.
