1947 Rodeo Sweetheart...

Design - Here we have a one-of-a-kind championship western blouse given to a true "Rodeo Sweetheart" in 1947 in the age class of 20 - 30 year old women. Just as it is customary to give men who are rodeo champs commemorative belt buckles in was also customary to give women riders who won in their class, commemorative western blouses with their title (Rodeo Sweetheart) Year (1947) and the age class (20-30 year olds) that they competed in. The woman who won this was a trick rider and a true blue cowgirl.

The blouse is two tone with white piping and is made up of a dark, navy blue gabardine and a crisp and vivid grey blue. It features long, point collars with navy blue trimmed in white piping on the shoulders and cuffs, five white snap buttons taper the cuffs and the same white snap buttons are found on the front. Two arrow pockets trimmed in white piping with navy blue arrows adorn the front and above them it reads "20 - 30, 1947" and on the other side "Sweetheart"

A beautiful and truly rare piece of western Americana.
