Reversible 1952 college letterman jacket, royal blue and orange, baseball, large patch "CHAMPS", wool side, satin side 1950s

1951-1952 Baseball Jacket Dreem...

Design - This is great 1952 reversible athletic jacket in royal blue and orange wool on one side and a cool blue satin on the reverse side. On the wool side the jacket features the classic ribbed and striped collar, cuff and waist. It has two front pockets and 7 snap buttons up the front. A very large, round nubby wool patch in blue and orange advertises that the jacket owners college team were statewide champs in the Community/Junior College division in the years 1951 and 1952. In the middle of the patch are two small crossed bats and a baseball.

On the blue satin side everything, the jacket, the ribbed collar, cuffs and waist are all a solid blue. This side of the jacket is basically a blank slate (and actually reminds me a bit of the tourist jackets from Japan and Korea - minus the embroidery).

Material - Blue wool, blue and orange ribbing. Nubby wool patch. Blue satin, blue ribbing.

Maker - No makers mark.

Condition - The satin side of the jacket is in great vintage condition with no holes, stains, discoloration or damage. The wool side of the jacket is in fair vintage condition with some slight fading to the shoulder area and some moth nibbles near the front collar. Other than that there are no holes, stains or any other kind of damage. The patch is vibrant and unharmed in any way as is the ribbing on both sides. It comes to you in clean, ready-to-wear vintage condition.
